The evenings are closing in but there are lots of great reasons to enjoy the club.
Firstly, a BIG THANKS to all bakers and cake eaters for the great support of Macmillan Coffee Morning. We raised £225 for charity.
As it's October we've got a great treat for all members. Earn a £10 Beauty Spa Voucher by visiting the club. No tricks just use your membership card to swipe into the club 10 times and we'll reward you with a £10 Beauty voucher. OCTOBER GYM CHALLENGE
'Trick or Treat move your feet' is this month's gym challenge. We are going with the Halloween theme and for everyone who completes at least 15 days will be rewarded with a treat.
There will be a workout everyday that you could complete as a main workout or as a finisher.
You will see the workouts displayed in the gym on the desk and the dates will all be colour coded depending on the workout for that day.
There will be blank forms on the gym desk so once you have completed a day you tick it off and a gym instructor will initial it. At the end of the month we can tally up days completed and then reward you with a treat on the 31st October.
If you need any help with any of the exercise's or modifications please ask for assistance from the gym team.
TIME FOR A NEW PROGRAMME?
Now it is officially Autumn and it's getting dark and gloomy, we want to make sure you can stay on track with the fitness routine, so encourage you to book in for a new programme review and allow us to help keep you moving!
This is always a difficult time of year to get and stay motivated so we would like to help as much as possible.
With a few people completing Sober for October now is the perfect time to commit to a new workout.
Remember it takes 21 days to create a habit so stay dedicated and it will become a habit to stay on track.
NEW SPIN CLASS
Just a reminder that we have added on another spin class every Friday evening 6.15-6.45pm with Caroline. This is an excellent addition to the timetable so make sure you book in to get your space.
QUEENAX WORKOUT OF THE MONTH
Don't forget to check the Queenax board for the new workout of the month.
If you are still yet to use the Queenax room then why not try a class or book in with a gym instructor to go through a 30 minute Intro where we can introduce you to a variety of exercises and functional movements that can help develop good core strength and balance.

CLUBBERCISE JOINS THE TIMETABLE - STARTS FRIDAY 11TH
October may be the month where the air is turning cold but in our studio it's still "HOT HOT HOT!"
Turn off the lights, turn on the disco lights, grab your glow sticks and enter the world of CLUBBERCISE.
Work up a sweat to club anthems from 90's classics to the latest chart hits.
The routines are a mix of dance, toning and combat moves that are easy-to-follow and always have high or low impact options to suit all fitness levels.
Clubbercise is all about fun, not perfection-and let's face it we all look different on the dance floor.
But who cares when it's dark and nobody's watching.
This class is all about enjoying the music and loosing yourself in the joy of dance.........in your own personal nightclub.
If you like music and you can move.......then you can dance. This fantastic, calorie burning, stress relieving, class starts Friday 11th October at 6.30pm with Jo.
LES MILLS CLASSES RELAUNCH - 5TH & 6TH OF OCTOBER
The LES MILLS programmes are showcasing their brand new releases on the weekend of 5th/6th October.
Come along and join our fabulous studio team as they come together to put you through your paces with the latest, most awesome, new workouts from all 5 of our programmes.
I guarantee, there's something there to suit everyone!
Saturday 5th October:
Punch and kick your way towards your fitness goals with our mixed martial art inspired BODYCOMBAT release 81 at 8.15am. An action-packed, high-energy workout where you leave feeling like the champ!!! Get yourself "sport ready" with the energetic, aerobic, interval training
BODYATTACK release 106 at 9.15am. Specifically aimed at building strength, stamina and stabilisation.
Whatever sport you do regularly, after attending a few BodyAttacks I promise you, you'll feel the difference.
BODYJAM release 90, follows at 10.15am. An addictive fusion of the latest dance styles and hottest new sounds where you are totally free to enjoy the intoxicating, sensation of dance.
This release the hint is in the title number "90" EVERYTHING is centred around the 90's music era. Fun, Flamboyant and funky!!
Sunday 6th October:
BODYPUMP release 111 at 9am is a fast-paced, barbell-based workout that's specifically designed to help you get lean, toned and fit. Using moderate to light weights it's all about the "rep effect" and the "time under tension" you spend working on all the major muscles of the body. Combine this with motivational music and great instructor coaching and you have a workout that's scientifically proven to achieve the results you want.....fast!
The beautiful BODYBALANCE release 85 winds down your morning at 11.15am. A wonderful blend of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates that builds on strength and flexibility, leaving you centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses provides a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance. A great way to finish your morning and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.....feeling peaceful.
OCTOBER TIMETABLE UPDATES
From Tuesday 1st October Mandy will be taking over the 8pm BodyBalance class.
From Wednesday 2nd October Sue will be taking over Yogalates at the slightly earlier time of 5.45pm-6.45pm.
Friday 4th October, BodyPump with Jenny will be changing to the 45 minute format and starting at the earlier time of 5.45pm.
BUT DON'T WORRY.....you'll still get the full workout experience as, although shorter, the triceps/biceps and lunges/shoulder tracks are combined into two awesome exercises.
KidzKlub will be playing the new popular movie Aladdin, this will be played in kidzklub 18:00 - 19:30 on 11/10/19. Beforehand we will be decorating biscuits and Aladdin themed crafts, no need to book, just turn up with a pillow!
Halloween is always an exciting event for Kidzteam, we will be hosting a party/disco on Friday 1st November 17:00 - 18:30!
There will be music, dancing, face painting, glitter tattoos, themed games, a treasure hunt, competitions and crafts!
Each child will also get a picnic tea included.
Look out for ticket sales which will be advertised mid October and for sale at reception.
We have many spooktacular activities planned for October half term, a copy of half term timetable will be available mid October! We are planning pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, leaf printing, nature walks, splatter firework painting and much more! There will also be extra sports and autumnal energetic activities!
We are holding a competition for all children within Kidzown, collect a card from Suzanne, gain a stamp from the coach for each sport you attend. If you attend 8 kids sports classes throughout October.
then hand in your cards to Kidzteam by the end of October for a chance to win a prize! The prize will be a slime making kit!
We encourage all children within Kidzklub to take part in sporting activities and are happy to take and collect children from those marked BH/KK on the Timetable.
We believe that healthy active children=happy children!
Please bring your children in appropriate clothing and encourage them to take part!
SING N STAY
Come along to sing n stay with Suzanne every Wednesday from October 2nd, 13:00 - 13:30, term time only. Including parachute fun, songs, story, puppets and more! No need to book, just turn up and make new friends. Songs and story time are brilliant for a child's development within communication, language, and understanding, which will develop social skills and confidence!
KIDZ BALLET ON WEDNESDAY WITH JO
Ballet with Jo is back!
Ballet tots for age 3 - 5 years 16:00 - 16:30 every Wednesday in the Studio with Jo!
Ballet Divas for ages 6+ years 16:30 - 17:15
A chance to learn a dance style, routines, games and make new friends! No need to book, just turn up.
Why not try out multisports with Matt on a Sunday, each week at 14:00 - 14:45, no need to book!
You could coincide with swimming or lunch in the brasserie!
A perfect way to have family fun as the weather is getting worse!
We will have each weeks sport advertised within KidzKlub! Look out for the poster!
Activities include, Archery, Badminton, Rounders, Dodgeball and more!

BEECHDOWN TENNIS DRILLS - FRIDAY 11TH
Simon is putting on an extra drills session on Friday 11th of October.
A fast-paced session based on the Spanish philosophy of hitting as many balls as possible whilst working on footwork and movement around the court. The session will also include some point based tennis games.
6-7 Beginner and Improver Players
7-8 Intermediate and Advanced Players
Info: This session is capped at 6 players per session, bookable on a first-come-first-served basis. Please sign up on tennis board.
Mike Elford is now organising the Adult Squash on Tuesday evenings, he is a Level 3 advanced coach and a very accomplished player.
On Tuesday's the programme will run:
1815 - 1900 Beginners Coaching - We'd love to see some new players take up the sport. For beginner's coaching we can even supply rackets so you can try the beginners coaching.
1900 - 2000 Intermediates Coaching
2000 - 2115 Advanced Coaching
Mike plays Squash to a very high standard and will also be available for Private Coaching.

TENNIS MIX INS
We've recently added two Tennis Mix ins to the tennis programme. These are to help you meet and gain some match practice with other Beechdown members.
Join Sam on Tuesday 1730-1830 and Sunday 0900-1030. Meet at the Tennis Courts.
We've got some delicious healthy specials for you this October including, Grilled Mustard Chicken, bursting with flavour, this dairy-free dish is served with a Moroccan-inspired rice packed with fruit and veg. Thai Beef Power Bowl Salad, we know that you love a bowl of goodness and this dish certainly delivers, with two of your-five-a-day and spiced with fresh red chillies. Grilled 'Pasta-free' Vegetable Lasagne. As the dark nights start to arrive this Autumn dish will warm you up, also, made with butternut squash rather than traditional pasta this dish is pure veggies; Herby Salmon Couscous, this fresh tasting dish is a great lunchtime filler.
The Lamb and Halloumi Salad was also very popular from the last September Specials and will now be added to our main menu. Any other feedback is more than welcome.
RUGBY WORLD CUP
England are currently top of their table with two more matches to play before the quarter finals. We will play Argentina this Saturday at 9am and France next Saturday at 9.15am.
Both games will be shown in the Brasserie so come down and enjoy the matches along with a Beechdown Full English breakfast.
MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING - GREAT SUPPORT
A massive thank you to all our staff and members that supported our MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning last Friday. There were some great baking skills shown off with delicious treats on offer and in total you helped us raise £225.80.
A great effort, for a great cause.
Every Sunday from 1pm you can now enjoy a draught pint or medium glass of wine for just £3! Add to this a scrumptious 8" hand-rolled pizza, with a choice of Margarita for £4 or Pepperoni for £5. Remember we will be showing all the Sky Sports Sunday football in HD on our projector screens and TV's throughout the Brasserie to ensure you don't miss a thing. This Sunday Southampton V Chelsea will be kicking off at 2pm and Newcastle V Man United will be kicking off at 4.30pm. All members are also welcome to sign in up to two guests to the Brasserie for free, so bring along your friends and make it a Sunday Social!
FRIDAY OCTOBER 11TH - LOVE LOCAL
On the 11th October we are going to be celebrating all local produce with an evening of great Hampshire food and locally brewed beer. Join us in the Brasserie for some great quality produce. Look out for confirmed suppliers on the Brasserie tables soon.
MEMBERS CHRISTMAS PARTY - MONDAY 23rd DECEMBER
This is the month for everyone to make sure you've booked your place to the Members Christmas Party.
Always hosted on the 23rd December this night is for members new and old to come together and celebrate the festive season. Places are only £22.50 per person and this includes a drink of your choice on arrival, a delicious 3-course meal and dancing until the early hours. This year's menu will be:
Caprese Salad Sliced beef tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and sweet basil. Drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Chicken Supreme Chicken breast stuffed with chorizo & applewood cheddar served with Gratin dauphinois, glazed carrots, roasted parsnips, crisp green beans and a paprika sauce or Caramelised onion and leek tart (V) With creamed spinach, Parmentier potatoes, glazed carrots, roasted parsnips and crisp green beans (V)
Trio of desserts
Chocolate brownie, Peach Bellini cheesecake, Caramelised pear
We can also cater for the majority of dietary requirements.

MEMBERS CHRISTMAS LUNCH - THURSDAY 12TH DECEMBER
Our Members Christmas lunch is now available to book at reception. Our Christmas lunch will be held in the Brasserie at 1pm on Thursday 12th December and is available for all members to book.
For just £15.95 you'll have a delicious 2-course Christmas dinner and a complimentary drink, along with Christmas crackers and a fabulous festive atmosphere.
There are a limited number of places available, so please book now to avoid disappointment.

This October we will be rewarding all members who visit the club on 10 occasions or more. Simply swipe your membership card on every visit and on your 10th club visit we will send you a text message to let you know there will be a £10 Beauty Spa voucher for you to use in Beauty.
The £10 voucher will be valid on all bookings of £30 or more and can be used on treatments booked and taken up until 30th of November 2019.
