AMT HIIT WORKOUT
This month we have decided to run an AMT challenge. The AMT (stands for Adaptive motion trainer) is great for people of all abilities and is a great way of getting a full workout with minimal impact. The AMT if used on a regular basis is great for improving your cardiovascular fitness and leg power. So the challenge...... There will be laminated cards for you to grab from the gym desk explaining the resistance and setting needed for each interval block, the challenge itself is only 24 minutes but 40 in total with a 10-minute warm-up and a 6 minute cool down. You can complete the challenge as many times as you want and after you have completed you can sign the form and note calories burnt each time you do it. At the end of the month, we will draw 2 people out of the completed list and they will both win a Peak Performance gym bag worth £60. Speak to a gym instructor for more information.
Wow! The new kettlebell class on a Saturday has been so popular and we have had some excellent feedback and lots of requests for a second class........ Your wish is our command! You can now participate in a kettlebell class every Saturday 9.30-10am and from now every Wednesday 6-6.30pm. Both classes are bookable.
Please note that from 1st August Boxfit will no longer be on on a Friday. There is still the Boxfit class on Sunday with Matt at 11am which is bookable.
GET WELL SOON
Some of you have been asking after the lovely Tina, she is doing very well after her scheduled op on her shoulder but unfortunately it was a little more complicated than originally thought and she will be off until the end of August. I am sure you all wish her well and for a speedy recovery. Get well soon Tina!
Welcome to all our new 6-week summer fun members. We would love to help you over the next 6 weeks with your fitness plans and provide help and advice along the way. Don't forget you can book in with an instructor for programme's and reviews and we can help offer you nutritional advice and help set an exercise routine for you, discuss classes and help get you started. We also encourage that all new children aged 12+ are booked in for an induction so they are familiar with what they can use and feel comfortable and safe whilst using the equipment.
If you haven't already, we highly recommend you download the free ADVAGYM app and create your account so you get to benefit from all the workouts on there as well as the ones we can add for you personally when you book an ADVAGYM programme.
The workouts available range from Legs Bums and Tums, to improving your pull-ups, to beginner weights programmes. This is a fantastic way of monitoring your workouts, seeing what your strengths and weaknesses are and watching yourself improve......plus it does the counting for you so you'll never lose count again!
The system is constantly being updated with new features being added to the app all the time. See ADVAGYM HERE The ADVAGYM app can be downloaded for iPhone or android
CHILDREN IN THE GYM
As we head into the Summer Holidays a reminder of gym rules on children:
Children below the age of 12 cannot use the gym.
All children 12-16 years of age must have completed a PAR-Q, with a parent present to sign the form.
Children age 12+ are welcome to use the gym until 1730 weekdays or 1700 weekends.
Children in the gym must either be directly supervised by a parent or sign themselves into the gym on the clip board at the gym desk.
All children using the gym must have had an induction on the cardio equipment. Before using resistance equipment they must have a body weight or light weight-based programme written by a gym instructor.
This will guide them through safe and effective exercise.
If you need to complete a Kids Par-Q or require any advice - please ask at the Gym Desk.
See you in the Gym

MONDAY FIT FOR LIFE NEW INSTRUCTOR AND TIME
I'm pleased to announce that fabulous Mandy is back teaching for us at Beechdown and will be taking over our "Fit For Life" class on Monday 4th of August. This class is specifically designed for our over 50's members. However, Mandy will definitely keep you on your toes as she's qualified in such a variety of classes that you'll never be bored.......nor will your body! The beauty of this class is you can work at your own pace and make your workout as intense as you want it to be as Mandy will cater for all fitness levels by offering options, adaptions AND progressions ( yes you just might need them too for some of you who like that "extra challenge!") when appropriate. Fitness should be for anyone and everyone and is even more important as you get older to maintain an active and healthy mind and body. Please note: Fit For Life will be starting at the slightly later time of 2.30pm-3.30pm and running for an hour. All our fantastic classes are still running throughout the summer holidays, and with so much going on down here to keep the kids occupied there are no excuses for you not to come in and enjoy all your studio has to offer. AND if you want to keep up with the kids..........."Physical Fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, but it is also the basis of dynamic and creative activity."
See you in the studio
